Actors and Artists for 911 Truth is comprised of creative professionals working in a variety of mediums, who endorse a petition in support of an open and independent investigation into the events of September 11, 2001.  While we cannot claim to understand the full truth behind the complex and carefully orchestrated 9/11 attacks, we are certain that the official 9/11 Commission Report failed to honestly answer or adequately address many significant questions. We created AA911 with the aim of inspiring conscientious citizens worldwide to carefully reconsider the events of 9/11 with fresh eyes and open minds.

 

Among the most passionate critics of the official story are those who were personally impacted by the tragedy of 9/11. Grieving family members who lost loved ones have long demanded reasonable answers to their troubling questions. They pressured a reluctant White House into conducting the first 9/11 investigation. Due to the hopelessly inadequate 9/11 Commission report, activists like Bob McIlvaine still want answers. "It's a murder -- my son was murdered -- and there never has been a murder investigation and a finding of what happened. It's very simple -- I'm a father who lost his son. Why wouldn't any father want to know how and why his son died?''

 

After initially accepting the official account, an increasing number of citizens and activists worldwide now realize that the 9/11 Commission Report is seriously flawed.  Among other egregious omissions, the 9/11 Commission failed to mention that a third World Trade Center skyscraper mysteriously collapsed on 9/11. WTC Building 7 was not hit by a jetliner. Many of the 19 suicide hijackers are reportedly still alive. Osama bin Laden, the alleged 9/11 mastermind, was never charged by the FBI for crimes related to 9/11. An FBI spokesperson cited a lack of evidence against bin Laden. These and other equally disturbing questions fuel a belief among millions of concerned citizens worldwide, that a new and independent investigation is imperative in order to truly understand the tragic crimes of September 11, 2001.  

 

Due partly to negative portrayals in the mainstream media, many assume that critics of the official story are disgruntled radicals, or poorly-informed "conspiracy theorists".  Yet a growing number of professionals with relevant expertise have challenged nearly every significant aspect of the official 9/11 Commission Report.  Pilots, firefighters, doctors, lawyers, political leaders, government officials, military veterans, and intelligence operatives have voiced criticisms, formed 9/11 groups or signed petitions demanding an independent investigation.  Over 1200 licensed architects and engineers have signed the AE911Truth Petition. Scientists, Military Officers, and Actors and Artists launched 9/11 Truth organizations in September of 2010.

 

Historically, members of the arts community have challenged the established order.  For centuries, creative artists in every society have questioned authority, spoken truth to power, and created works which inspire others to think critically, and to take peaceful action on behalf of the common good.  The American people, victims of 9/11 and their families deserve reasonable explanations from their elected leaders. It is the right of citizens to demand a legitimate investigation of the heinous crimes of September 11, 2001. Not even the Co-Chairmen of the Official 9/11 Commission have complete faith in their own investigation. — why should we?
